Music

A small sampling of the diverse musical talents of our river community are included below.

Steve Bryant is a violinist with the Seattle Symphony. He’s known for his passion and enthusiasm for music. Each summer he leads a string quartet on a special 15-day Canyon Explorations river trip. Here a several pieces of magic.

Jeffe Aronson shares his talents. Jeffe says, “Probly the biggest reason they let me stay down there in the Big Ditch for 25 years was the music. Otherwise I’d have been flipping burgers instead of boats.” The recent, harmonica enhanced picture leads to 18 minutes of music and video. The 1979 photo will take you to Jeffe’s Lava Falls Haka. Enjoy!

Zander Brown and Jimmy McIntyre are two long-time CanX guides who are also long-time friends. Once upon a time they were in the band Second Harvest together. Here’s a selection from an evening in the Grand Canyon, with Zander on the mandolin and Jimmy on guitar.
